IBF Convention heads to China in May

“We are very excited to finally have this opportunity to bring our convention to Asia for the first time and especially to the great city of Beijing,” stated IBF President Daryl Peoples. “The IBF has been active in Asia for many years now, but in the past few years there has been a significant increase in our activities in the region which have expanded into China. We are truly looking forward to connecting with the boxing community in Asia,” added Peoples.

A special press conference has been scheduled for this convention on Tuesday, March 29 at 1:00PM at the Hotel Nuo, Beijing, 5F Terrace.

The convention will be kicked off with a Welcome Cocktail on the evening of May 23. On the following day the delegates will go on a tour to the Great Wall and the day will conclude with the Meet the Champions Cocktail. This event is always a highlight of the convention as the delegates get the opportunity to interact with the champions in attendance. Several of the organization’s past and current champions have been invited.

The general session and seminars will take place on the 25th and 26th. These sessions and seminars provide the group of international delegates the opportunity to dialogue and share experiences, as well as learn and improve their craft.

The IBF/USBA and IBF China have worked with promoters in the region in planning a major boxing event at the Diamond Stadium in Beijing on the 25th. The details of this event will be announced at the press conference.

The last celebration during the convention is the Annual Banquet which will be held on the evening of the 26th. Plans are in the works to make this a spectacular evening. The convention will conclude on the morning of the 27th with a general session.

The IBF/USBA and IBF China are planning a great convention for their members and everyone interested in attending. “We are enthusiastic about welcoming all of our members and colleagues and making this a successful event as this will be a milestone in our organization’s history,” noted Peoples.
