Cool Hand and the Gang: March 19 Walsall card finalized

UKO Boxing 14/03/2016

The line-up for Black Country Boxing’s latest show – ‘Cool Hand & The Gang’- has been finalised.

The show, sponsored by Grosvenor Casino Walsall, takes place at Walsall Town Hall on Saturday, 19th March 2016.

Walsall super lightweight, Luke Paddock, takes on Cardiff’s Rhys Saunders in a six round contest at the top of the bill. Paddock is hoping to reclaim his Midlands Area Title, and more, during 2016. This is the perfect tune-up fight for the Bloxwich boxer as he looks to build on his impressive victory over Plymouth’s Chris Adaway in December.

Fellow Walsall fighter, Martin Gethin, makes a welcome return to the Town Hall – the scene of his British Title victory over Ben Murphy three years ago. The Quiet Man takes on Newark’s Fonz Alexander also over six threes.

Midlands Area Super Welterweight Champion, Jason Welborn, is also in action as he looks to secure a third shot at a British Title. The Rowley Regis warrior takes on Yorkshire’s Adam Jones over four rounds.

Wolverhampton welterweight, Sid Bowater, makes a welcome ring return after debuting 12 months ago when he takes on fellow novice, Birmingham’s Dwayne Sheldon over four rounds.

West Bromwich middleweight, Tom Stokes, takes on Hull’s Luke Allon and Burton featherweight, Leon Gower, steps in with Sheffield’s Qassim Hussain. Both contests are over four rounds.

Two debutants who have made the switch from kick boxing complete the bill over four three’s.

Wolverhampton’s former world featherweight champion, Kyle Williams, debuts at bantamweight against Kuwait born Sheffield resident, Anwar Alfadi.

Newark’s International Sports Karate Association World and Intercontinental Champion, Chad Sugden, makes the switch against Stoke’s Mark Till.

Halesowen super middleweight, Lennox Clarke, and Wolverhampton super featherweight, Des Bowater, both miss out due to illness and work commitments respectively.

Tickets are priced at £30 (general admission) and £60 (VIP Ringside), and can be purchased by calling 0845 111 2900 or directly from any boxer on the bill.

The weigh-in and aftershow take place at Grosvenor Casino Walsall, Bentley Mill Way, Walsall WS2 0LE (just off junction 10 of the M6). GC Walsall will have a presence at the Town Hall on the evening and have linked up with taxi firm, Yellow Taxi’s, to supply a number of free taxis to take guests from the Town Hall to the casino post-fight.
