Wilder v Povetkin heads to Russian soil, announcement due next week

Forecast a big freeze and heavy showers followed by an avalanche as towering WBC heavyweight Deontay Wilder defends his crown against mandatory contender Alexander Povetkin.

The venue for Alexander will be great because his promoter Andrey Ryabinsky, announces it’s: “From Russia…with love.”

Ryabinsky’s enterprise “World Boxing”, won the purse bid and has 14 days to announce the date and exact venue.

Wilder has built a hugely impressive record of 36-0, with 35 KO´s. He won the belt last year defeating Bermane Stiverne. Since then, he has been actively blazing a trail by defending the crown against Eric Molina, Johann Duhaupas and Artur Szpilka.

WBC silver champion Povetkin has 30 victories with 22 KO´s to his credit and only one defeat by Wladimir Klitschko. Fighting at home, he will be a dangerous opponent for the Bronze Bomber, with the prospect of green and gold at stake.
