Steve Collins Jr. to make US debut in Boston, father to work corner

Steve Collins Jr. the son of The Celtic Warrior and former WBO Middleweight Champion Steve Collins, will make his U.S. debut in a Cruiserweight bout against the pro debuting Tyrell Bates.

Collins is coming off a year of inactivity due to injury and will be fighting for the first time since a big TKO victory against tough veteran Viktor Szalai in Dublin, Ireland on February 20th, 2015. This will mark Collins first time fighting in the U.S., and in the city his father Steve Collins first made a name for himself, fighting for the WBA Middleweight Championship against Mike McCallum at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston MA, back in 1990. Collins Jr. now looks to make a name for himself in the Boston area with his tough, no nonsense style and seems the perfect fit for the Boston fight crowd.

Also added to the already stacked March 19th, Saint Patrick’s Clash card is Irish National Amateur standout Niall Kennedy (3-0 1KO). Niall is coming of a unanimous decision victory over Yavor Marinchev on November 6th in Dublin, Ireland. This will be Niall’s 2nd time fighting in the U.S., having previously knocked out Alando Pugh in June 2015 on a Murphys Boxing promoted card. Niall is a very sought after Heavyweight who brings a tremendous amateur career with him to the pro ranks.

As an added bonus for the evening, The Celtic Warrior himself, Steve Collins, will be in attendance at the March 19th fight card, as he works his son’s and Niall’s corner along with there highly thought of trainer who also happens to be his brother, Packie Collins. Don’t miss these two exciting Irish up and coming stars and an Irish boxing legend, as he returns to his adopted home in Boston.

Very limited tickets remain and this is sure to be another sold-out raucous crowd that Murphys Boxing fight cards have come to be known for. Don’t delay, get your tickets today!
