Carl Frampton and Scott Quigg were embroiled in a heated argument over dressing rooms for their eagerly-awaited super bantamweight title unification this weekend.
At Thursday’s press conference, Frampton and Quigg overshadowed proceedings due to a disagreement over who gets the biggest space to prepare for the bout on fight night.
“It’s a bit of a laughing matter on my part and there is a bit of dispute about the dressing room. Scott wants the dressing room that the star of the show should have. I’m the A name, I’m coming to the ring second, it’s Frampton v Quigg,” said Frampton.
Promoter Eddie Hearn then pointed out: “There is nothing in the contract about the dressing rooms.”
Frampton responded: “It’s not the home dressing, it’s for the star of the show, the A side, it’s my dressing room.”
Hearn then attempted to end the argument by stating: “You haven’t even sold all your tickets! That’s how much of a star you are!”
The pair then stood in front of the gathered media for an intense head-to-head which has set up this Saturday night’s pay-per-view clash nicely.
As Frampton put his hands on Quigg’s shoulder, the Irishman was duly pushed away by Hearn which sparked fury from ‘The Jackal’.
Calls of ‘don’t ever put your hands on me again’ were met by a ‘control yourself’ riposte from Hearn as things threatened to boil over between them.
Frampton and Quigg put their respective IBF and WBA titles at 122 pounds on the line at Manchester Arena in an encounter that will finally settle four years of animosity between the two.
