Undefeated New Zealand heavyweight Joseph Parker and his trainer Kevin Barry have announced a forthcoming IBF eliminator against dangerous Cameroonian-born Frenchman Carlos Takam.
The pair are currently ranked five and six respectively with the International Boxing Federation and whoever comes out on top will be pitted against the winner of Charles Martin v Anthony Joshua at some point this year.
Current champion Martin makes the first defence of his belt against Joshua on April 9 in London before facing his first mandatory obligation, possibly in the fall against Parker or Takam.
Parker, 24, is highly-touted as a future world title holder, whilst the experienced Takam has won three on the spin since the 35 year-old was defeated by Alexander Povetkin in a similar situation with the WBC.
