Arfan Iqbal signs long term deal with Goodwin Boxing

Iqbal has won all 10 professional fights and first came to prominence when he put on a masterclass live on Channel 5 in November 2013 dismantling then Southern Area Champion Leon Senior in 7 rounds putting him down 3 times in the process.

This should have been the springboard for greater things but despite featuring on a Josh Warrington Matchroom undercard in Leeds, Iqbal has only fought three times in the two and a half years since.

“We plan to keep Arfan busy. We are aiming for his Goodwin bow in April and then build him towards the English title later in the year. I am delighted to sign Arfan and it just shows the quality of boxers coming to us and our stable is growing not only in quantity but also in great quality.”

Arfan was just as happy with the move “I done my research and Steve is taking boxing by storm. When we met he devised a plan and I was really happy with what I heard. But it is not just what he says it is what he does as you can see by the path his boxers are going at present. I am really happy to be a part of the team”.

Goodwin finished by saying “Arfan is still only 24 and not yet in his prime. He has the style and charisma to be a Boxing TV sensation and we plan to make that happen.”
