Zlaticanin v Marsili winner ordered to face Linares upon return

Jorge Linares, the WBC lightweight champion of the world fractured his hand and will be out of action for some time.

The WBC has ordered number one and mandatory contender Dejan Zlaticanin, from Montenegro and Emiliano Marsili, from Italy, number 2 contender and WBC silver champion to fight for the WBC interim lightweight championship.

Free negotiations have begun and if there is no agreement the WBC will hold a purse offer on March 4, 2016.

Jorge Linares will be monitored regarding his medical status and the interim champion must fight the world champion whenever he is ready to return to the ring.
