Mullender v Markham set for Haye undercard

Former World heavyweight champion David Haye pledged when Haye Day returns to The O2 it will build on the success of his comeback fight earlier this year and another electrifying night of entertainment is in store.

Mullender and Markham will be looking to make a statement on the domestic scene and with both hailing from Essex championship gold and local pride will be a stake. The personal rivalry between the two hard hitting, all-action middleweights provides the ideal warm-up with neither fighter willing to taking a backward step in what promises to be a battle that goes the distance.

Following the success of Haye Day in January, when a 16,000 capacity audience that included Hollywood stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Idris Elba at ringside, Goodwin Promotions will once again be supporting Hayemaker Promotions to assemble an undercard packed with full of knockout specialists and future champions.

Former two-weight world champion, David Haye comments: “The reaction to the first Haye Day was incredible with a sell-out crowd, headline music act, A-List guests and record breaking TV viewing figures. May’s event will be even bigger and better. I’m intent on securing an undercard with event more quality match-ups and what better way to start than with an English title fight featuring two fantastic prospects.”

He adds: “The first Haye Day was an overwhelming success but we’ve listened to the fans and, in association with Goodwin Promotions, we are working on an action-packed undercard to ensure both hard-core boxing fans and those new to the sport are left on the edge of their seats.”

Further undercard fights are due to be announced next week. Tickets to Haye Day at The O2 on May 21, are available on general sale now via axs.com and hayemaker.com.
