Karo Murat gets back to winning ways with Hamburg victory

EC Boxing 14/02/2016

Small is beautiful – as was the setting for the Gala on Saturday afternoon at the gym of EC-Boxpromotion.

Karo Murat answered back with a win after his “Mission USA” failed to happen last December. In California Glendale (not far from the legendary Hollywood Boulevard), Murat lost a final eliminator for the IBF light heavyweight title against Sullivan Barrera.

On his return to Hamburg, he was there more successful against Aleksandar Todorovic. The 32-year-old clearly won over six rounds on points 60-54 to get the winning feeling back.

Even more significant than that was the result in another scheduled six round battle between the 22-year-old cruiserweight talent Nikola Milacic and his opponent Milos Dovedan. Milacic won by knockout in the first round. It was his 11th victory in 12 pro fights (six KOs).

Although promoter Erol Ceylan had the Gym event advertised the audience was not allowed to be large.

“It does not always have an arena with 10,000 spectators be – for all we need is only one ring and two guys who want to go at it,” said Blins Fazit.

For Erol Ceylan, the Gym event begins a busy few weeks. Especially when heavyweight talent Adrian Granat returns on February 19. The 24-year-old has arrived in Paris to face Evgeny Orlov, Then on March 12, he goes back to the French capital against Samir Kurtagi?.

At the same event but in the light heavyweight division, European champion Igor Mikhalkin defends his title against Frenchman Patrick Bois.

“For Adrian, it is primarily a question of experience. We hope that opponents sometimes can last a bit longer and not fall in the first few rounds so that he can show that he can hold up the tempo over a longer distance “says Ceylan.

On March 18, the EC-boxer beat then fights again in Romania as in Bucharest, whilst former Tyson Fury opponent Christian Hammer fights Britsh fighter Michael Sprott.
