After his spectacular return to the ring last December in Fajardo, the reigning FECARBOX champion with the World Boxing Council (WBC), Angel ‘Pito’ Fret (17-0, 14KO’s), will have the opportunity to contest the vacant 122-pound belt against Dominican Angelo Munoz (15-5 10KO’s) on Friday, February 26 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

“When Red Carpet Promotions contacted me to see the possibility to fight for the title at 122 pounds FECARBOX from ‘Pito’ Fret Angelo Muñoz and immediately said yes,” said José ‘Toto’ Peñagarícano, member of the Council of the Board of Directors of the World Boxing Council.

Fret, who He won the first championship of his career late last year by knockout in the first round against the Mexican Bernardo Gomez Uribe, will participate in his second fight under contract with Red Carpet Promotions.

“I am extremely satisfied with the work being done by my promoter. They took me to my first title fight in my first fight under contract and they are giving me the opportunity to return to my natural weight of 122 pounds to get my second belt, “said the fighter. “I’ll get to Santo Domingo with all my arsenal to give a great show to my Dominican brothers and be crowned champion WBC FECARBOX. My goal is to continue to prove I am not here by chance and very soon I will become world champion. “

The undercard will feature the participation of several Puerto Rican boxers, including Carlos ‘Olympic’ Negron (16-1, 12KO’s), who held the FECARBOX belt in the heavyweight division.
