Top Rank head Bob Arum, reporting from Hong Kong, bared that trainer Freddie Roach will travel to Manila next week to preside over the training camp of Manny Pacquiao.

“Freddie’s leaving next week (for the Philippines),” Arum said from the former Crown Colony where he hosted a press conference hyping a card that will be held in Shanghai this weekend.

Even before Roach hits local shores, Pacquiao is already in the thick of things in General Santos City for his farewell fight against Tim Bradley on April 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Roach is expected to spend the next few weeks in the country before moving back to the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood in early-March.

A few days ago, Pacquiao began sweating it out at the GenSan track oval in the hopes of getting warmed up for Roach’s much-awaited arrival.

Not that Pacquiao fears for his condition but the 37-year-old eight-division titleholder maintains that he has to be in terrific shape in the third face-off with the Palm Springs native.
