Don Jose Sulaiman posthumously honored by Mexican President
In a special ceremony, the life President of the WBC – Don Jose Sulaiman Chagnon, was awarded with a posthumous National Sports Award 2015 for the protection and promotion of the practice of sports.
The award was delivered by the President of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, to Doña Martha Saldivar Sulaiman, Don Jose’s widow.
The event was attended by important personalities of the boxing family including: George Foreman, Evander Holyfield, Roberto Duran, Don King, Lennox Lewis, Juan Manuel Marquez, Carlos Zarate, Humberto Gonzalez and Lupe Pintor.
Such distinctions are awarded by the President of the Mexican Republic, Enrique Peña Nieto, as a recognition of the efforts of athletes, individuals and institutions that achieve performances and outstanding careers in national and international sports or who have devoted efforts to promote, protect and promote the sport around the world.
This magnificent award celebrates the life of Don Jose, a man who lived to serve a sport he loved and it adored him!
