Former two-weight World Champion David Haye took just 131 seconds to knockout WBA Top 10 ranked Mark De Mori in his comeback fight in front of an electrifying sell-out crowd at The O2 arena on 16 January 2016.
Just 10 days after his return bout Haye continues in his bid to unify the Heavyweight division with a second fight on Saturday 21 May 2016 (with opponent yet to be named.
The fight, which is scheduled to take place at The O2 in London, demonstrates Haye’s commitment and dedication to the sport and his fans after his promise of regular fights in a bid to reclaim the World Title and unify the belts as he achieved in the cruiserweight division.
Commenting on the fight, Haye said: “After being out of the ring for so long it was incredible to be fighting in a capacity crowd at The O2 arena in front of my loyal fans. I’m thankful for all the support I’ve received so far. I felt so cool and calm in there. I don’t believe any heavyweight in the planet could have taken those punches. Now is my time to prove they can’t. The Heavyweight division is once again incredibly exciting, with a number of talented fighters vying for the World Titles. The Hayemaker is back and ready for the next challenge!”
Haye will continuing his comeback under the guidance of Shane McGuigan, speaking on the fight announcement “David and I have been clear from his comeback announcement that it is with the single objective of reclaiming and unifying the World Heavyweight Titles. His first round KO of De Mori showed there was no ring rust, we are keen to keep the momentum and build on his most recent win, with a short period of active recovery before going straight back into camp”
The fight broke television broadcasting records for channel Dave, with a peak of over 3 million viewers tuning in to watch. The packed arena also experienced the Haye Day party atmosphere before The Hayemaker took to the ring. The 16,000 strong audience included stars of Hollywood including actor Benedict Cumberbatch and Luther star Idris Elba who sat ringside, proving it to be the hottest ticket in town.

Tickets for Haye Day, Saturday 21st May 2016, go on pre-sale to O2 Priority customers at 9am on Wednesday 27 January and will be on general sale through AXS.com from 9am on Friday 29 January.
