MGM are very pleased to announce that they have added another big talent to their stable; Tyrone McKenna has joined #TeamMGM to further his already very successful pro career.
Born in Belfast, McKenna started boxing at the age of eight, he won numerous amateur titles and turned pro in 2012 in the USA. He was based in Philadelphia and was trained by world heavyweight champion Tim Weatherspoon in the first instance and then moved to Bozey Ennis. McKenna won all five of his pro fights in the US before moving back home to be closer to his young family. Since being on this side of the pond, his success has continued and he has won a further four fights.
Now on the cusp of an Irish or Celtic title fight, McKenna is very pleased to have been signed by MGM, he said“ Now I have signed with MGM, I am delighted to have such a great team around me to guide my career and progress through the pro ranks, I couldn’t ask to be in better hands.”
And MGM are very pleased to have got their hands on him, “Tyrone is a very promising talent, he has got the added extra that you need to go far in this business and we look forward to helping him along the way.”
In other news, 2015 was a good year for MGM´s Navid Mansouri; he both won and retained the English light middleweight title, the latter against the undefeated Sam Sheedy in July. He has now set his sights higher and on 13th February he will be fighting for both the British and Commonwealth title.
Mansouri will be up against Liam Williams and will be fighting at the Echo Arena in Liverpool and will feature on the undercard for Derry Matthew´s WBO World lightweight title fight against Terry Flanagan. “I am really looking forward to the fight,” said Navid “I am sure I can bring the titles home, training has gone well and I am ready!”
MGM wish Nav all the best.
