Scottish amateur standout Super Lightweight Lewis Benson is excited for a big 2016. The multi-weight Scottish representative has impressed in his opening three professional contests, looking classy and dominant on all three occasions.

The Edinburgh Light Welterweight is now keen to kick on at a rapid pace in 2016.

“My first three fights have went well. All have been very comfortable and I don’t think anyone has laid a glove on me yet. I know it’s early days but I feel I’ve settled into the pro game very nicely and I want stoppages and knockouts. I was close to them in my first and second fight but just lacked that finishing touch.

“I’ve been working hard in the gym and it paid off in my third fight. In my eyes the main thing is I’ve been improving after every camp and fight which is really good for this stage of my career.”

Benson is one of the many talented fighters under on MGM Management’s books and is loving the direction he is heading in under the Spanish based outfit,

“I believe I’m under the best and fastest moving management with MGM. After the first time I went out to Marbella almost 12 months ago, I knew straight away that Daniel and MGM were the only people I wanted to look after me.”

Benson’s 2016 begins on 12th of March in Edinburgh on another installment from MGM Promotions Scotland in Edinburgh. The first two events have showcased quality fighters, exciting contests and an electric atmosphere. Benson looks to continue his own and MGM’s momentum and turn that momentum into quick progression and titles this year.

“I’m out on the 12th of March in Edinburgh I hope the phone goes before that because I’m always in the gym and ready to go! In 2016 I hope by the end of it I’m about 10-0 and hopefully I have secured a minor title. If the chance comes where I get offered to fight for something bigger I would happily take it if my management think it’s a good move for me! I know I will be hard to beat at Super Lightweight and it’s just a matter of time before I am up there fighting for titles!”

Benson’s next contest will be on March 12th on a bill that is set to showcase Stephen Simmons in a title contest as well as all the Edinburgh based fighters that include Brian Forsyth, Stephen Tiffney and John Thain amongst other top prospects.

An announcement on tickets will be made shortly
