Hearn says Khan wanted £10m guaranteed with Brook getting £2.5m, would accept 40-60 split

Khan, 29, is set to return in the spring after missing out on fights with Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao in the past year but seems no closer to an agreement with the IBF welterweight title holder.

Brook is lined up for a mandatory defence against fringe contender Kevin Bizier, whilst Khan has accused ‘The Special One’ of ‘fighting bums’ as the ex-140 pound title holder edges towards a summer revenge mission against Danny Garcia.

“I’ve been WBC number one for two years and it’s about time I got my opportunity to avenge that loss (against Garcia),” said Khan.

“Brook fight could still happen this year but Brook wants 50/50 split with me. Wake up son and smell the coffee! Be realistic and make it happen, even Eddie told you you’re not worth that!

“I want it, Eddie wants it, Sky want it, all the fans want it, but then Kell decides to fight Kevin Bizier who’s lost to Jo Jo Dan twice! Eddie Hearn is cool and I had a good chat with him at the Smith fight in Liverpool and negotiations started before Christmas (but nothing happened).”

Eddie Hearn immediately hit back at Khan by defending his fighter.

“Incorrect. Your lawyer asked for 80-20. We have confirmed we will give you greater split to get it made,” he pointed out.

Hearn continued: “OK, I was asked not to say anything in media re our negotiations but guess that’s been breached!

“On Monday, I met with Amir Khan’s lawyer and he asked for a £10m guarantee with the upside to fight Brook and Kell getting approximately £2 to £2.5m. After I spat my coffee out we said no thanks.

“Since then, I have been in discussions with Al Haymon’s team to try and get this made. We are willing to take the smaller split to get this made but enough of the insults. We will make this easy for you, 60-40 in your favour (Kell is World Champ) and you have it (the bigger split).

The final word on the matter went to Brook, who stated: “There you have it – put up or shut up! No more talk. June 4 at Wembley Stadium for the World title. I will destroy you.”
