Now 35, Haye has been firmly on the outskirts of boxing since doctors say that severe shoulder surgery should mean the end of his career, although ‘The Hayemaker’ embarks on a comeback this Saturday night.

Before announcing his initial retirement, Haye had pulled out of two fights with current heavyweight king Tyson Fury but is fighting fit to face de Mori at the O2 Arena in a fight to be broadcast on Freeview channel, Dave.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve been in this position. A few days before a fight that’s actually going to happen,” Haye said tongue-in-cheek.
“One thousand two hundred and eighty days, I think it is. A long time to be inactive, the longest of my career.
“But this is the start of something amazing for me. Mark de Mori is a solid operator with explosive power. But I believe the levels between genuine world-class and the unknown will tell.
“I don’t think he’s fought anybody, amateur or professional. That could give him the know-how to navigate my speed, power, and punch variety,” he added.
De Mori, 33, is a huge underdog to pull off a shock in his first London bout. But does have a healthy world ranking with the WBA.
He’s only lost one of his 33 contests since turning professional in 2004.
