WBA-ranked heavyweight contender Mark de Mori labelled himself ‘The Other Guy’ at Wednesday’s final press conference as the Croatia-based Aussie prepares to lock horns with David Haye.
The 33 year-old battles Haye at the O2 Arena in London on Saturday live on Dave and goes into the fight a massive underdog despite the ‘Hayemaker’ not having fought since way back in 2012.
‘The Dominator’ plans on putting a spanner in the works of a potential UK super-fight between Haye and Olympic gold medallist Anthony Joshua despite de Mori claiming he’s being completely overlooked by the former world champion.
“So I assume the most of you have turned up to speak to David Haye, well I’m the other guy,” de Mori said. “That’s my role here as the guy that’s meant to make David Haye look good before he fights Joshua.
“All I can say is I’m ready to fight. I’ve turned up and I’ve trained extremely hard. I’ll do whatever it takes to win. Huge respect to David Haye’s career and he’s obviously taking this fight seriously, training hard.
“But I am the unknown, I have explosive power and I’m here to win. I’m the B-Side but I’m ready to knock David Haye out,” he added.
David Haye takes on Mark de Mori at The O2 on January 16. For tickets to #HayeDay visit axs.com or watch the fight exclusively live on Dave from 9pm.
