Featherweight prospect Stephen Tiffney is sparring Carl Frampton in preparation for his third professional contest whilst helping ‘The Jackal’ get ready for his World title showdown with Bury’s Scott Quigg.
Edinburgh’s Tiffney has notched up two wins in his first two professional contest, impressing in both. The Newtongrange native has a big 2016 where he’ll be pushed quickly by the MGM setup, who all speak highly of the former Scottish amateur star.
Tiffney is currently helping Frampton and had nothing but praise for the Belfast-born Super Bantamweight,
“Sparring Carl has been good. It’s tough, I’ve never been hit this hard in my life. It’s hard to get this kind of sparring in the world never mind in Scotland so I’m thankful to Barry, Shane and Carl for giving me the opportunity to come down and do some sparring. Carl is looking awesome. He looks like he could fight tomorrow”.
Tiffney’s next outing comes on the 28th January at Glasgow’s Crowne Plaza hotel where he features alongside Stephen Simmons, Marc Kerr and Thomas Dickson on the MGM Promotions Burns Supper Event. Tiffney will be boxing for the first time in Glasgow as a pro and looks ahead with eargerness to the 28th of this month,
“It will be a different experience boxing on a dinner show however I expect it to be a good one. It will be good to experience boxing in a different environment as I’m used to boxing in halls and leisure centre’s. I am improving all the time and I expect to produce my best display to date in Glasgow”.
