James Fryers v Maxi Hughes tops MHD debut show on Feb 6 in Belfast

Their last show at the famous venue was a complete sell out including many local celebrities and sports stars in attendance and once again the local up and coming boxing promoter Mark Dunlop has a feast of local talent on show in an event that caters for every boxing fan.

With Belfast Featherweight sensation James Tennyson now the “Mandatory” challenger for the British Featherweight title stablemate James “The Future” Fryers steps up to headline his first professional boxing show.

Undefeated Fryers (11-0) looks to elevate himself from “Prospect to Contender” when he takes on UK number 7 ranked Maxi Hughes from Yorkshire in a British Boxing Board of Control ordered “Eliminator” for the British Super Featherweight Title over 10 rounds.

Hughes (W11 L2 D2) is very talented and comes into the fight in good form beating 2012 Olympian Abdon Cesar on points in his last contest. Hughes’s two loses come at the highest level including a point’s loss to Scott Cardle the British Lightweight Champion and a nose injury to Matchroom prospect MJ Ward.

The rest of the exciting card features Tennyson who will have his warm up contest before his title challenge, The popular and exciting undefeated Lightweight prospect Paul Hyland Jnr who goes for win number ten, Joe Fitzpatrick looks to push on again after sustaining a hand injury in his last fight, John Breen’s exciting new addition Fergal McCrory from Coalisland will hope to get a few rounds in after his impressive debut, a 1st round stoppage at the Waterfront Hall in November& the much anticipated home debut of the talented Tyrone McCullagh.
