World Boxing News have been informed by the IBF of a deal between Jose Pedraza and mandatory challenger Stephen Smith at super featherweight.
Representatives for the pair had been locked in talks for a Stateside clash following Smith’s final elimination victory over Devis Boschiero and will now collide on March 26 in New York City.
According to IBF Chairman Lindsey Tucker, Pedraza v Smith could happen at Barclays Center in Brooklyn – although nothing official is due to be revealed until early in the New Year.
Also at 130 pounds, WBO title holder Rocky Martinez and ex-champion Orlando Salido are set to trade blows for the third time on February 20 following two close and entertaining contests in 2015.
Martinez won the first back in April but battled to a draw with Salido in the rematch five months later. Both teams are currently negotiating the finer details of the deal, including the venue.
Finally, another rematch has also been set as Fedor Chudinov and Felix Sturm have agreed to do battle again on the same night of February 20.
The first fight in May went all the way to the wire, with Chudinov claiming a split decision in Frankfurt, and this time the duo will clash at the Koenig Pilsener Arena in Oberhausen – once again for the WBA super middleweight belt.
