Maiden MGM Manchester show set for February 20 in Preston

MGM Manchester 21/12/2015

Johnney Roye for MGM Manchester has announced three title fights for the first official MGM Manchester show on 20th February from Preston’s Guild Hall.

The Guild Hall itself is a fantastic venue which shows the ambition that MGM Manchester have by putting on a show at such a venue. The show itself will see Super Bantamweight Michael Ramabeletsa, Light Heavyweight Liam Conroy and Middleweight Lyndon Newman all competing for British Challenge titles over 8 rounds.

Ramabeletsa will have his first title contest under the guidance of Roye, who appears to have given a new lease of life to ‘The Troublemaker’. Ramabeletsa has been in with everybody at domestic level and has held his own against tough opposition such as Paul Butler, Kal Yafai, and Ross Burkinshaw amongst other quality names. This fight will aim to be the start of an Indian summer to the likable South African’s career.

Barrow’s Light Heavyweight Liam Conroy has his first step up to eight rounds. Conroy who has had an up and down start to his career has found guidance under Roye at MGM Manchester and looks to crack on to major title fights in 2016. Still only 23, the Cumbria native works a full time job before heading off on an hour and a half commute to MGM Manchester where he continues to learn his trade under the guidance of Roye. Liam will be looking to crack on for British and Commonwealth titles in 2016 and it’s undoubted he has a big career ahead of him.

Lyndon Newman faces a step up as he returns from a two and a half year lay off to challenge for a British Challenge title over 8 rounds. The highly thought of Tameside Middleweight will be looking to make up for lost time in his career as he attempts to burst on to the British domestic Middleweight scene.

Supporting the three title fights is former two time IBF Super Featherweight Champion Malcolm Klassen who is set to be in a big fight that will be announced shortly. Undefeated Leigh Welterweight Ashley Peyton continues his education in the pro ranks. Central Area Light Welterweight Champion Wythenshawe’s Kofi Yates has his first pro contest at Lightweight as he sets his sights on titles in 2016.
