Sauerland eyeing Swedish heavyweight super-fight in 2016

Wallin, a 26 year-old from Sundsvall, has taken the paid ranks by storm since signing with Team Sauerland in 2013, and is currently undefeated after thirteen professional fights.

However, he is not the only Swedish heavyweight enjoying success. Adrian Granat, the 24 year-old from Malmo, has proved equally effective, scoring ten victories including nine knockouts.

With both men eager to prove they are Sweden’s number one, Sauerland believes it is only a matter of time before the young fighters meet in a huge domestic showdown, and reveals he would be willing to make the dream match a reality next year.

‘’This would be a huge fight for Swedish boxing,’’ said Sauerland. ‘’Two of the country’s top talents going toe-to-toe in a real heavyweight showdown.

‘’Both fighters have been progressing through the professional ranks at a good pace, and now, it’s only a matter of time before their paths crossed. They are on a collision course and when they finally meet it’s going to be explosive.

‘’I know this is a fight that Otto and Adrian both want. They are two young, ambitious fighters who are eager to prove they are the best in their division. It would be a real 50-50 fight and one that could capture the imagination of the entire nation and bring boxing back into the mainstream.

‘’If Ottto is able to beat Kurtagic on Saturday night, which will be no easy task, there is no reason why this fight can’t happen next year. We have a great relationship with Adrian’s promoter Erol Ceylan, and I’m confident we could come to an agreement to make it happen. The fighters want it, the fans want it and it would be great spectacle for Swedish boxing!’’

Wallin faces Kurtagic on the undercard of Erik Skoglund’s fight with Derek Edwards on Saturday night at the Rosvalla Arena in Nyköping, Sweden. Tickets are available online via www.biljettforum.se or by calling (+46) 0771-130 150. All the action will be shown live on TV10 in Sweden.
