Steve Goodwin expands stable, brings in Jack Morris

Morris, 33, from Margate in Kent has amassed a very creditable 17 fight record of 14 wins 2 losses and 1 draw. His sole defeat in the last 8 years came when stepping out of his natural weight division to box Lawrence Bennett for the Southern Area Cruiserweight title in March 2014. Bennet has since gone to defend that title and is scheduled to box Matty Askin for the English belt.

Morris was scheduled to box Tom Baker for the vacant Southern Area Light-Heavyweight belt in October 2015 but Baker withdrew from the bout.

This title bout is still potentially on the horizon but after a meeting with Goodwin Morris is considering moving down to Super-Middleweight.

“There are some major fights out for me in that division and I will be naturally very strong at that category” said Morris “

“I am excited what is on the horizon for me” he continued “Mark Burford has been a brilliant manager for me but Mark has decided to take a back seat and recommended that I sign with Steve. So here I am!”

Goodwin was delighted with the signing “I will work on some options over the next few weeks and expect to see Jack in some big fights in 2016. It is time for Jack to start winning some silverware and I am delighted to be in the position to help him achieve that.”
