Sven Fornling looks forward to Sweden return on December 19

The Swedish boxer impressed in his last outing on September 19, outpointing Nordic rival Simen Smaadal in an entertaining six round contest.

‘’I was pleased with my performance against Smaadal,’’ reveals the 26 year-old. ‘’Even though I was a little disappointed not to get the knockout in the fifth round, it was a great fight! Boxing is show business and I think I gave the audience what they wanted to see – a fight full of action and heart!’’

Following his crowd-pleasing performance, the fighter from Malmo has wasted no time returning to the gym and preparing for his next challenge.

‘’I had a week off after my last fight, and after that I’ve been training like crazy,’’ said Fornling. ‘’Beating Smaadal has only made me more determined to get to the top.

‘’I’ve been doing most of my work in Malmo with my coach Carlos Zungia, but I’ve also been in Copenhagen sparring with Patrick Nielsen as he prepares for a big fight with Rudy Markussen on December 12.

‘’Now, more than anything, I’m looking forward to fighting in Nyköping again. When I last fought, the crowd were amazing in every way. Even though I’m from the south of Sweden, I felt welcomed and embraced in a way I’ve never experienced before. It’s a memory I will cherish for a lifetime.

‘’I can’t wait to get back in the ring and do it again! That’s all I’m focused on. I eat, sleep, train and live boxing! The fans can expect another action packed fight. When I enter the ring, it is war from round one. I want to end 2015 with a bang!’’

An opponent for Fornling will be announced shortly. He fights on the undercard of Erik Skoglund’s light heavyweight showdown with American KO specialist Derek Edwards, the only man to have beaten current Swedish World Champion Badou Jack.

The December 19 show also features Swedish fan favourite Anthony Yigit versus former Floyd Mayweather opponent DeMarcus ‘Chop Chop’ Corley, heavyweight hope Otto Wallin against the Serbian giant Samir Kurtagic, Oscar Ahlin taking on the tough Russian Varazdat Chernikov and rising Swedish stars Hampus Henriksson and Patricia Berghult.

All the action will be shown live on TV10 in Sweden. Tickets are available online via www.biljettforum.se or by calling (+46) 0771-130 150.
