During its world annual convention, the WBC established a tournament in the welterweight and super welterweight divisions after honoring Floyd Mayweather Jr. as the Champion Emeritus.
These concepts have captured attention all over the world, and the highly anticipated fight between former WBC super lightweight champion Danny Garcia and former WBC welterweight champion Robert Guerrero will be part of this format.
The WBC has also accepted the inclusion of the winner between Cesar Barrionuevo vs. Azael Cosio to take part in the tournament.
Once the process of confirmation of participants is finished the format and guidelines will be presented.
