Oscar Ahlin begins rebuilding job on December 19

The Stockholm fighter returns following a shock defeat to Bernard Donfack in May, and having taken time out to assess what went wrong, the 26 year-old insists he is now refocused and ready to get back to winning ways.

‘’This fight is very important for me,’’ says Ahlin. ‘’I need to win to get my career back on track. Everything went wrong in my last fight, and it was all down to my preparations. I over trained and I cut weight the wrong way. I didn’t listen to my body and I left it all in the gym.

‘’Since then, I’ve committed all my time to boxing. I spent three months in States over the summer and was in the gym everyday. This was really important for me. I needed to get away and focus on myself for a while. Now, I feel like I’ve found myself again.’’

Ahlin is now looking forward to bringing his explosive style back to Sweden, and having been a spectator at Team Sauerland’s last show in Nyköping, the ‘Golden Boy’ knows what to expect from the Swedish fans.

‘’I was there on September 19 supporting Erik Skoglund and the other Swedish fighters,’’ said Ahlin. ‘’It was a great card and the audience really surprised me. I was happy to see that the Swedish public are still interested in pro boxing.

‘’I’m excited to be a part of the show this time round. I know I’ve got a tough fight. Chernikov is a good boxer, and together, I’m sure we’ll provide the audience with some entertainment!’’

‘’Oscar equals excitement,’’ said promoter Nisse Sauerland. ‘’His fan friendly style is going to prove very popular with the fans in Nyköping. Against Donfack, he learnt some valuable lessons, and on December 19, I expect him to come back stronger than ever.’’

Local hero Erik Skoglund headlines the big Team Sauerland show on December 19 in Nyköping against American KO star Derek Edwards, the only man to have beaten current Swedish World Champion Badou Jack.
