Boxing fans get the chance to watch two title fights, and a title eliminator, at Dennis Hobson’s next show at The Magna in Rotherham on November 21.
Co-headlining will be Dronfield’s Lewis Taylor defending his English middleweight belt in a local derby against Sheffield’s Jez Wilson, and another ‘Steel City’ fighter Muheeb Fazeldin takes on Klaas Mboyane for the vacant Commonwealth bantamweight crown.
Meanwhile Sam Sheedy, also from Sheffield, gets the chance to move a step closer to a shot at the Commonwealth ligh-middleweight crown when he goes head-to-head with big-punching Ghanaian Frank Dodze in a title eliminator.
“These are three great fights with meaningful outcomes on the line, and we’ve got a cracking undercard to go with them,” said promoter Dennis Hobson. “I really rate Lewis Taylor, he’s an intelligent fighter and has the steel to go with it. Jez Wilson is a very good test for him who has been in with some good names and has beaten Liam Cameron previously. Jez will be really up for this fight, it’s a great opportunity for him and it should be a cracker.
“We know all about Klaas Mboyane after he upset Ross Burkinshaw, stopping him in four rounds in May. Muheeb has looked very good so far, very flashy and can really hit hard, but Mboyane is no respecter of reputations and will be sure he can do a number on him and win the Commonwealth belt. And we all know that Sam Sheedy should really be the English champion after his convincing performance against Nav Mansouri earlier in the year. How he lost that fight we’ll never know, but this is a chance to go down a different route and set up some big future fights, if he can get past Dodze. This is a great show to end the year with and sets us up nicely for some big things in 2016.”
