Goodwin Boxing sign cruiserweight Karl Wheeler
Boxing is all about second chances in the sport and when 33 year old Cruiserweight Karl Wheeler from Peterborough returned to the ring in 2014 after a 9 year absence he wanted to take the chance with both hands.
The ever popular Wheeler has had three wins since his return to the ring and after teaming up in 2015 with manager Steve Whitwell they have decided to sign a three year promotional agreement with the Steve Goodwin and the Goodwin Boxing team.
Karl boxed on an Olivia Goodwin show on 5th September where he impressively won every round against Croatian tough man Tomislav Rudan. After sitting down in a meeting with Steve Goodwin, Karl and his manager had no hesitation in accepting Goodwin’s offer.
“Goodwin Boxing are making huge strides and have taken boxing outside Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn to a new level. They are helping boxers achieve titles and they will work with my manager to help me achieve mine.
Karl will be next out of 5th December on a Josh Goodwin show at York Hall which will feature four title fights and the new Goodwin set up at York Hall which has revitalised the venue.
Goodwin was delighted to be working with Karl. “I first met Karl two years ago. He is a really nice guy who I am delighted to be working with. He has a fantastic manager in Steve Whitwell and we can definitely work together to achieve Karl’s goals.
