Dimitrenko, Granat record KO’s at Boytsov charity event
On Saturday night, 1,000 spectators came to the fundraiser for injured heavyweight Denis Boytsov as Adrian Granat and Alexander Dimitrenko won with KO victories in round two.
The event took place at Helmut Schmidt Gymnasium in Hamburg and raised money for the injured Boytsov who was put in a coma earlier this year.
At the box office, 10,000 euros were raised for Boytsov’s transfer from Berlin to Hamburg as the heavyweight continues his recovery. In addition, the Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov gave astounding 50,000 to help further with Boytsov’s rehabilitation.
The Berlin Box-Promotion group Sauerland Event, Boytsov’s last employer, also donated 3000 euros and together with the Hamburger promoter Erol Ceylan, covered the cost of staging the boxing show this weekend.
On the bill, undefeated Adrian Granat gave the hard hitting Darnell Wilson no chance to show his hand and knocked the American out after 2:30 minutes of the second round. With this performance, Granat improves to 9-0 with an eight KO.
“Adrian knocked out two training partners in one day during sparring. After this victory over Wilson he is ready for greater challenges,” says his promoter Erol Ceylan after the fight. “The next fight opponents in December is already fixed, namely the well-known Denis Bakhtov.
Alexander Dimitrenko also scored a knockout victory in round two over the Serb Milos Dovedan. “He has shown a great performance,” said Erol Ceylan. “Dovedan was several times on the ground and in this form Dimitrenko may be on the world stage once again.”
