Undefeated Mexican, Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez, is toiling in an embroiling week of training camp in Carson, California, USA, in order to defend his NABF super middleweight championship, endorsed by the WBC.
Ramírez will fight on November 20 at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada against Gevorg Khatchikian in a card presented by Top Rank, along with Zapari Boxing Promotions that will be broadcasted through TruTV.
This date is rather special for the Mexican fighter as it commemorates the 105th anniversary of Mexico´s Revolution.
“This date is special for me, and I’m committed to victory. On November 20 you will see the best version of me fighting with Khatchikian,” Ramirez promised, concluding a gruelling training session in Carson.
Ramirez is having now sparring sessions with several husky fighters of La Roca Gym. Most of them are bigger and heavier than him. He also trains using a variety of stances to improve his boxing skills.
“Some of them are bigger than me, but I am able to withstand their power. They are technical boxers, difficult boxers that make me think, and a lot and that helps me for my upcoming fight,” he explained.
Next, he’ll work with fighters with a similar style to that of Gevorg Khatchikian. Most afternoons, Ramirez can be found studying his rival, advised and guided by his trainer, Hector Zapari.
