Prichard Colon showing positive signs as circle of prayer is arranged

In losing for the first time in his career to Terrel Williams on Saturday night, Colon, 23, suffering a bleed on the brain and his since been recovering in hospital.

Colon is currently receiving intensive care following an operation over the weekend and has begun to show some glimpses that he may be able to come out of his comatose state.

A family update on Monday afternoon read: “Today, Prichard confirmed movement in the hands and feet during neurological tests. To a test where the doctor will put pressure on the chest, Prichard sought to take the hand from his chest.

“Prichard breathes voluntarily, but they want to see if he can without assistance.”

‘Digget’ was firstly docked points for low blows and eventually disqualified from the Premier Boxing Champions clash against Williams held at the Eaglebank Arena in Fairfax, Virginia after his corner took off his gloves a round too early.

Williams was himelf deducted a point in the encounter for rabbit punching, whilst referee Joe Cooper has since received some criticism from fans over his handling of the contest.

A circle of prayer will be held for Prichard at Orocovis Public Square at 6.30pm (AST) on Tuesday and the family have confirmed that all are welcome to attend.
