Tewkesbury boxer, Adam Harper, has his sights firmly set on a first professional boxing title as he gears up for only his fourth fight in the paid ranks.
The former Western Counties Senior Elite ABA Champion has recorded a hat-trick of victories since turning professional last year and is set to headline Western Country Boxing’s ‘To The Manor Born’ show in November.
The 27 year-old will battle it out with Gloucester’s Lewis Van Poetsch for the British Challenge Middleweight Title over eight rounds at Harper’s home venue – Hatherley Manor Hotel – on Friday, 20th November.
“It’s a good step up for Adam,” manager Errol Johnson told www.uko-boxing.com. “He’s one of the fittest lads I’ve worked with and is really dedicated.
“He’s stepped up form four rounds to six rounds and the way he trains, he’s more than ready for an eight round contest. Lewis is a fit lad. He comes from an army background and, although he’s two years younger than Adam, has had 30 fights.
“It’s a good test but one we are confident of overcoming.”
Harper is joined on the card by Worcester lightweight, Michael ‘Mad Man’ Mooney, and Cheltenham light heavweight duo, Luke Maisey and Scott Gibbins Jr.
