A highly anticipated rematch has been signed as Paulus Moses looks to avenge his defeat from earlier this year against former IBF Super Featherweight Champion Malcolm Klassen.
The pair met in Namibia in March where Klassen walked away with the WBO International title in a unanimous decision victory. The fight which is set for November 13th in Johannesburg is set to be an eliminator for a World Title in a contest that is sink or swim for both fighters.
Klassen has recently linked up with MGM Marbella and trainer Johnney Roye at his base in Preston and is excited at the prospect of taking on Moses for the second time. Moses, who is familiar to fight fans in Britain from his encounter with Ricky Burns, is no slouch and is coming into the contest looking to avenge only his third career loss. Another loss on his record against Klassen could be a curtain call on a World title opportunity for the 37 year old Namibian.
Trainer Johnney Roye is delighted to see his charge Klassen get a meaningful fight after talks with the Richard Commey team appeared to stall. The winner of Klassen Moses 2 will be highly ranked in the WBO and could be on the case of Terry Flanagan in the early months of 2016, assuming Terry is still the champion by then.
Klassen will be joined at JR’s Gym in Preston by Declan Geraghty. The talented Irish Southpaw is an excellent addition to an already buzzing gym in Preston. Geraghty who is 9-1 as a pro had an excellent amateur career winning numerous Irish titles is set to make his 11th pro outing on the MGM show in Dublin topped by Jamie Conlan on November 7th.
