Randall Bailey scores customary knockout on South Korean debut

The 41 year-old veteran, who held the WBO belt at 140 and the IBF title at 147 pounds thirteen years apart, recently signed a deal to fight in Asia and is hoping to have one final run at capturing a world title.

Cutting short a previously announced move to super welterweight which produced a solitary second round KO win over Gundrick King last June, Bailey halted Japanese fighter Shusaku Fujinaka back down at welterweight at the Sunhak Gymnasium in Incheon.

In the process, the rejuventated Bailey picked up a fringe version of his old WBO championship, along with a new world ranking, and pushed his record to 46-8 with a 39th early finish.

Bailey boasts 70% KO ratio through his 54 contests, which is a quite remarkable total for such a lengthy spell, and has been a member of the ‘Who Needs Him Club’ since breaking onto the world scene in by knocking out Carlos Gonzalez in one round way back in 1999.

If the Floridan is to nail down what would a seventh career shot at a recognised belt, Bailey will have to be more active than fighting just twice in the last three years though.
