Live scorecards on WBN tonight: Lucas Matthysse v Viktor Postol

Phil Jay 03/10/2015

WBN will be scoring live on site tonight as Lucas Matthysse fights it out with Viktor Postol for the vacant WBC super lightweight title.

Matthysse will attempt to finally lift a version of the world crown having previously failed in a bid to dethrone recent title holder Danny Garcia in 2013.

The hard-hitting Argentinian did manage to defeat a reigning champion when stopping Lamont Peterson prior to his loss against Garcia, although the fight was agreed as a non-title contest.

A win for Matthysse, who is the pre-fight favourite, could signal the beginning of a transition into a welterweight contender in the not-to-distant future.

Postol was the epitome of his nickname ‘Iceman’ when taking to the scales on Friday and looked at least a weight division above Matthysse when the pair stood side by side.

Also on the bill, Antonio Orozco fights multi-weight world champion Humberto Soto in what could turn out to be a final eliminator to meet the winner of the main event, whilst Mercito Gesta attempts to keep his comeback on track against Miguel Mendoza.

Undefeated prospects Julian Ramirez, D’Mitrius Ballard, Kevin Rivers Jr and Nick Arce all feature at the event staged at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Log on to the WBN website from around 9.30pm ET and 2.30 UK time to follow how the cards are scored live.
