Renald Garrido willing to rematch Bradley Saunders in the UK

The 32 year-old inflicted a first career loss on Saunders in Liverpool last month to improve his record to 15-11-1, although his opponent cited ailments to both fists as the reason for the shock defeat.

Saunders was eventually disqualified for a headbutt after being unable to fight back, and despite Garrido being adamant of his superiority, ‘The Lion’ says he would be willing to trade blows with Saunders for a second time.

“Saunders failed, but I don’t’ think he will admit it,” Garrido told World Boxing News.

“I did not see any suffering with his hand during the fight and I think I imposed myself on him with my combinations. He could not pierce my guard – but I will not pretend that I would have won the same way without his injury – although I am certain that with or without the injury, my style of boxing would have caused him the same problems

“I’m not afraid of anyone and I like challenges, I train hard and I will fight difficult boxers if necessary as a boxer must do his job, take on challenges and fight. Provided that the offer is reasonable and the fight is scheduled for a minimum length of eight rounds, I can fight Saunders again no problem.

“If not Saunders, I will face any British fighter as I just want to fight again in the UK again because the English public are questioning my win,” he added.

Saunders facing an uncertain future due to his brittle hands, whilst Garrido’s stock has risen since the win and could see the perennial underdog offered another UK opportunity by Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn.
