The unbeaten 31 year-old first claimed the blue belt in 2010 when stopping Tony Gregory over six rounds in Germany, before earning a second spell with a highly-controversial split decision victory over ex-world title challenger Dereck Chisora a year later in Helsinki.
Helenius now heads back to the same city in an attempt to get back on the world scene having seen injuries and contract wrangles halt his progress to the top over the last couple of years.
‘The Nordic Nightmare’ has scored two wins this year on the back of a two-year absence but will step up his opposition considerably against another fighter with a perfect record in Teper.
A second round blowout of David Price in July represented a career breakthrough for Teper, 33, who improved his C.V to 15-0 with a tenth knockout against the former British and Commonwealth champion.
Teper had been linked to facing Dereck Chisora in the UK, although that fight failed to make it past the negotiation stage leaving Helenius and his team to move in and persuade the German to head to Scandinavia just before Christmas.
