Tyron Zeuge has been forced to withdraw from his WBO Intercontinental Super Middleweight Championship fight with Eduard Gutknecht on September 26 having suffered a foot injury in a traffic accident.
The fight was scheduled to take place on Team Sauerland’s 35th Anniversary show at the Max Schmeling Halle in Berlin but will now be postponed to a later date.
‘’Luckily for Tyron this is just a minor injury,’’ explains Zeuge’s coach Karsten Roewer. ‘’However it has left him unable to train and therefore unable to compete on September 26.’’
Frederick Ness, CEO of Sauerland Event, has expressed his regret at the situation. ‘’On behalf of everyone at Team Sauerland, I would like to wish Tyron a speedy recovery,’‘ said Ness. ‘’It is an unfortunate occurrence, but once Tyron has recovered, we will look to reschedule the contest for later this year.’’
Team Sauerland’s 35th Anniversary show will continue as planned with Jack Culcay topping the bill with a first defence of his interim WBA World Light Middleweight title against Dennis Hogan.
