MGM promotions in association with Harrison Promotions feature a thrilling night of boxing this Saturday night when Former World Title challenger and TeamMGM Boxer Tshifhiwa Munyai tops the bill in the Evogue Nightclub in Preston, against IBF Inter-Continental featherweight champion Oscar “Golden Boy” Chauke.
This IBF International title contest is also a final eliminator for the Commonwealth Featherweight title.
Oscar Chauke won the belt last year after beating Namibian Gottlieb Ndokosho in Namibia and the reigning champ has 34 wins against nine losses and three draws, the 34 year olds reign as IBF International featherweight champion will come under close scrutiny this saturday evening when the Johnny Rowe trained Munyai who has 24 victories from 31 bouts, will compete over 12 rounds for the title.
Chauke is well aware of the threat posed by Munyai as the UK-based South African easily outpointed him over 12 rounds in a fight for the WBA Pan African junior featherweight title in East London five years ago. MGM’s Munyai, is a very talented and experienced boxer from Makwarela in Limpopo, and is a former Commonwealth and WBA Inter-Continental bantamweight and IBO and WBA Pan African junior featherweight title-holder. The 30 year old, living in the UK since 2013 and trains under head coach Johnny Roye at his base in Preston and as Johnny says he is”Really looking forward to our show on Saturday, the bill is filled with talent. The main event is Tshifhiwa Munyai, trained by myself & managed by MGM, Tshifhiwa is looking really sharp and is very relaxed coming into fight night and can’t wait to challenge Oscar Chauke for his IBF International belt”
Also on the bill will be MGM New boy, Malcolm Klassen who is the 2 times former IBF world lightweight champion, “we are keen for him to box Richard Commey for the commonwealth but Commey looks like he is choosing an easier option. Klassen is also trained by myself & managed by MGM, since joining forces with our Spanish partners, our gym & promotions have gone from strength to strength. ” says Rowe in eager anticipation for Saturday night’s show. “Klassen & Munyai are world class boxers who have had world championships belts before. With the support from our partners at MGM Marbella & the tireless work that we have been doing at JR gym, I’m 100% confident that World titles will come again. The future looks bright!”.
Also on the bill is MGM managed Sean Creagh, who will have his second pro outing after his debut win in Birmingham earlier this year. The Dublin Welterweight looks to continue his education as a professional on Saturday night alongside Oliver Harrison’s charge Josh McLaren who has his ninth professional contest at Light Welterweight.
