Guerrero says Berto has the power to take anyone out, expects Mayweather to go for 50-0

‘The Ghost’ has shared the ring with both fighters, defeating Berto in 2012 before going on to lose 117-111 across the board to Mayweather the following May. Guerrero recently scored a career 33rd victory over Aron Martinez and is firmly back in the mix for another world title shot soon.

Despite groans when Berto was announced as the opponent for the final ‘Money’ fight on Showtime, Guerrero gives the Haitian-American at least a punchers chance in the fight, but doesn’t see how Mayweather could lose too many rounds at the MGM Grand.

“I think it’s a good fight,” Guerrero told World Boxing News

“Berto is hungry to show everyone he’s worthy of a Mayweather fight, and that makes for good action. Everyone has a chance to upset any fighter and all it takes is one punch.

“Berto has the power to take anyone out, but I feel Floyd will win by a wide margin.”

On Mayweather bowing out of boxing on 49-0, Guerrero added: “I think Floyd will fight one more time in an attempt to get to 50 wins.”

As Mayweather’s contract with Showtime runs out next month, there is expected to be a massive network scramble to televise any possible 50th outing.

Mayweather fighting again could boost the world number one’s earnings even further on the back of his record-breaking win over Manny Pacquiao last May, especially if a rematch with the Filipino was in the offering.
