Fight updates: Margarito return; Ioka v Sosa; Mundine v Hatley

The 37 year-old originally retired in 2012 on the back of a revenge defeat to Miguel Cotto in New York and has suffered from eye problems for years.

It now seems Margarito has been given the all-clear to resume his career and the veteran has already been linked to a fight against the winner of Cotto v Canelo or even an all-Mexican punch-up with Alfredo Angulo.

On September 27 in Osaka, three-weight world title holder Kazuto Ioka will make the first defence of the WBA flyweight title he won against Juan Carlos Reveco.

Ioka, 26, will battle Roberto Sosa at the Edion Arena as the Japanese star aims to build on his impressive 17-1 record.

Finally, Anthony Mundine will put his WBC silver super welterweight belt on the line against Charles Hatley almost a year to the day since the Aussie upset Sergey Rabchenko to claim the belt.

‘The Man’ was linked to a fight against Austin Trout all summer, but that contest didn’t pan out and the 40 year-old now faces Hatley, 29 on November 11 at home.

Texas-based Hatley has lost just once in 27 bouts since turning pro, although Mundine will represent the first significant step-up of his career.
