Kai Robin Havnaa (3-0, 2 KOs) is back in action on September 12. The Norwegian cruiserweight prospect faces Istvan Kun (4-4-1, 2 KOs) at the Arena Nord in Frederikshavn, Denmark.
Havnaa, the son of former WBO World Cruiserweight Champion Magne Havnaa, has been pleased with his progress since joining the paid ranks, and ahead of his fourth professional contest, the 26 year-old from Grimstad believes fans are only just beginning to see the best of him.
‘’I’m looking forward to this fight,’’ said Havnaa. ‘’Kun looks like a solid opponent but I’m confident I can beat him. I’ve got a winning team around me and I trust in my coach Joey Gamache to come up with the perfect game plan. I just need to focus on my job, concentrate on what I’m doing, and the victory will come.
‘’I’ve had a totally different clam in this training camp. I feel that I’ve really begun to understand how the professional game works. Whereas before I wasn’t sure of what to expect, I now have that experience, and that’s going to show in the ring. With each fight I feel like I’m improving and on September 12, I’m going to deliver my best performance yet!
‘’I honestly couldn’t be better prepared. We have a great set up with Joey in Copenhagen. He is an amazing coach with so much experience and there is so much I can learn from him. Everyday I’m surrounded by so many talented fighters. It’s really inspiring. It forces you to bring you’re A game, and everyone is pushing each other to that next level.’’
Havnaa has also benefitted from a unique training experience he has gained as a participant in TV3’s new sports reality show ‘Råskap’, in which twelve famous athletes undergo a series of gruelling tasks in the Norwegian extreme terrain in Styn.
‘’This show was perfect for me,’’ said Havnaa. ‘’I was put through some of the hardest physical tests you could imagine. All the other participants were world-class athletes from different disciplines, from cross-country skiing to ice hockey. I learnt a lot watching them train and seeing the different methods they use. The whole experience has made me stronger and I feel more motivated than ever to succeed!’’
