The two-lap run around the scenic and flat course will cost runners £16.00, which includes a tee shirt, medal and free parking. Entries will be accepted on the day.
“It’s in a great part of Sheffield, really scenic. These city runs have been getting really popular and it’s time we had one in Sheffield like they do in other cities,” explained Hobson.
“Rother Valley Country Park is beautiful and it will be a lovely place to run around. This is the first one but hopefully it will become an established event over the years, and we can raise some serious money for local charities.
“I’m very proud to be from Sheffield, and sometimes the city isn’t promoted as it should be. There are lessons to be learned from cities like Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle, and if I can contribute to raising the profile of Sheffield by helping with an event like this then I’m delighted to be involved.
“We’d like to build this into something big, so if there are any personalities out there that would like to get involved, maybe come along and run, and support the event that would be great – please get in touch.”
