Following “Lights out at the Plaza” this week, Matthew Macklin already has his next fight lined up. He will be fighting Jason Welborn on 17th October in Birmingham on the undercard of Eddie Hearn’s bill when Frankie Gavin will take on British and Commonwealth champion Sam Eggington.
Macklin will be dropping to light-middleweight for the fight for the first time in 9 years. He is confident he will he comfortable at this weight.
“My body composition has changed, “ he said. “I can safely make the 154lb limit. I still want a world title and this opens some doors. I believe I can do it.”
In other news, Francis Warren from Queensberry Promotions will be joining the growing VIP guest list on Friday at the Andalucia Plaza for the ‘Lights out at the Plaza.’
Francis worked closely with MGM Promotions for their last show “New Beginning” on 4th July and the success of the show was a result of this strong mutually collaborative relationship.
MGM are delighted that Francis will be in attendance to support Matthew and the MGM fighters.
