Brook had wanted to face UK rival Amir Khan in a huge pay-per-view offering at Wembley initially, but that fight is now on the backburner until at least 2016 leaving Hearn scouting other high-profile options. One of those was former Manny Pacquiao foe Brandon Rios, although discussions ultimately broke down leaving Bradley as the preferred choice.
The American, who holds the WBO interim belt, is due to be named full champion once an appeal by Floyd Mayweather has been heard and would be a sufficient enough name for Brook to further raise his profile in the United States.
Fighting the likes of Bradley was one of the stipulations handed down by Khan for him to agree a fight with Brook next year as the ex-super lightweight king believes ‘The Special One’ needs more top names on his record to make the fight sell even better on US soil.
Brook’s promoter Hearn now hopes to make it a reality.
‘Kell wants to fight Bradley,” Hearn told SportsMail.
“I had a good meeting with Bob Arum. There are plenty of names available but we would like to fight Bradley. Of course we would like to fight Amir Khan, but outside of that fight, this is the best one for us. Style-wise it would be an absolute belter.
“I am still hopeful that fight fans will see Khan and Brook fight each other next year but for now, with Khan wanting to fight Manny Pacquiao, Bradley looks like it would be a top fight for Kell.”
Another fight in the pipeline is a super bantamweight world title clash between Scott Quigg and Nonito Donaire, which would certainly make up for the disappointment of the Carl Frampton fight failing to materialize for Hearn’s WBA ‘regular’ champion.
Quigg and Frampton had seemed to be miles apart in previous negotiations, although Hearn says recent talks with new advisor to ‘The Jackal’ – Al Haymon, have left him more optimistic that the encounter can finally make it past the line in the near future.
“I have held numerous conversations with Al Haymon and there is a lot more positivity around the fight. Communications are open and various ideas have been discussed,” said Hearn.
“I have more hope than ever before that this can be made so let’s wait and see. But we are not putting all our eggs in one basket. I met with Bob Arum in London to speak about Quigg fighting Donaire in November. Frampton is the priority but this would be a huge fight as well.
“We have discussed some ideas, like Dubai and Manchester and Donaire has no problem with fighting in the UK,” he added.
