According to Linares, a September defense in his home country was on the cards following his stoppage win over Kevin Mitchell in London, although at the moment it is uncertain whether that will now go ahead.
Mitchell was linked to a return clash with Linares having been halted when up on the judges scorecards and Sulaiman believes the Briton would be fully deserving of a second chance should it come his way in the near future.
“We have heard that Jorge Linares will fight in September in Venezuela, but we have had no confirmation of this whatsoever,” Sulaiman exclusively told World Boxing News.
“The Mitchell fight was a great fight and one of the fights of the year,” he said. “Mitchell is undoubtedly one of the future champions and a rematch would be very fair.
“I don’t think there was a request to order an immediate rematch, but Mitchell is highly-rated and considered a top prospect and we will support his career accordingly.”
There is currently only one window of opportunity for Mitchell to grab an immediate return as Linares already has a mandatory challenger knocking on his door.
“After Jorge Linares fights his voluntary then Dejan Zlaticanin is his mandatory challenger,” confirmed Sulaiman, who is a keen admirer of the UK lightweight division having heard feedback from a recent Matchroom event in Hull.
“I never saw the Luke Campbell v Tommy Coyle fight, but I have seen many good reports. I think it’s a division that is really heating up very well and there are very good matches coming up.”
