Russian promoter Vlad Hrunov has informed WBN that an agreement has been reached with Sauerland for WBA super middleweight champion Fedor Chudinov to defend his title against interim champion Vincent Feigenbutz.
Even though Chudinov is scheduled to face Briton Frank Bulgioni in September, Hrunov has discussed the fight with the Sauerland brothers and thrashed out the financial details. Saying that, Hrunov also stated that he is considering a second fight with Felix Sturm on the back of Chudinov claiming the WBA belt by defeating the season German in May of this year.
“The fight between Fedor Chudinov and Vincent Feigenbutz is not done as we only fixed money,” Hrunov exclusively told World Boxing News.
“First, we can fight versus Frank Buglioni in September, and after we can see about Feigenbutz.
“We have also held talks with Felix Sturm regarding a rematch,” he added.
Due to Feigenbutz holding the fringe version of the WBA’s 160lb championship, the 19 year-old would perhaps be ahead of Sturm in the reckoning – although everything hinges of Chudinov coming through Buglioni upon his first trip to the UK in the fall.
Chudinov faces Frank Warren promoted Buglioni on September 26 at Wembley Arena weeks after the fight was initially postponed at the request of the current title holder.
