Santa Cruz, Mares, Ruiz and Ceja all make WBC check weight

WBC super-bantamweight champion, Leo Santa Cruz and three times former world champion Abner Mares passed the WBC 30 days pre weigh in with flying colors, prior to their clash on August 29th.

An added yet glittering hard edge to this much-anticipated encounter, is the addition of the prestigious WBC Diamond award belt- only disputed between elite fighters.

Complying with the official rules, Leo and Abner alighted on the scales individually, passing the WBC 30 days pre weigh in. This fight will take place at the Staples Center of Los Angeles, California.

Ruiz tipped 128lbs, while Ceja was 130 lbs.
